Double Machine
Double Machine (ダブルマシーン, Daburu Mashīn) is a sidecar on which Kikaider 01 rides. Unlike Side Machine, it does not transform before and after transformation.
A versatile machine that can fly not only on the ground, but also in the air, underwater, underground, and outer space. It has a top speed of 500 km/h on the ground and 800 km/h in the air (it can pass through a minefield between the time a mine is ignited and before it explodes). If there is enough energy, it can go back and forth between the Earth and the Moon. The body material is lighter than bird feathers and harder than steel. Remote control is also possible. Although not used in the series, searchlights are equivalent to sunlight and can also replenish 01's energy. In addition, the sidecar part can be separated, and there was also a setting that it could run independently.
In the TV version, it is equipped with a rocket bullet equipped on the front and a flame bullet Zero One Fire (ゼロワンファイヤー, Zero Wan Faiyā) (used in episode 23, which is different from Kikaider 01's technique) fired from the injection port of the rear wing. In the anime version, in addition to firing missiles, the wing part of Double Machine separated and turned into a windmill shape, then cut through the enemy while rotating, instantly destroying SHADOW's mass-produced crab-type robots.
